oil pressure

My oil pressure is extremely high almost at the last mark on the stock guage when I accelerate, and idle itle drop maybe 3-4 marks. What can be causing this?

+1, i would get two new gauges. A temp and an oil pressure gauge and get you a pillar to put them in and go with it.

the mechanical guages are a little more accurate but do you really want an oil and water line running into your interior??? i would hate to see the mess that would make!!!!!!!

ive run mechanical ones in several cars now, and as long as their set up right they wont leak, its not rocket science to make them safe.

I know Mustangs are not know for their gauges but mine work just fine. Try changing the oil pressure switch on the motor first. Its cheap and who knows after you change it it might work just fine...

If you are standing in front of the car its on the right side of the motor towards the front just above the oil pan on the block... It has one wire plugged into it..
