You do the math and tell me where I'm wrong. Prices are going rate for most other places I've looked at if not just a bit cheaper. Car runs like shit, smokes, FI parts looks like shit. If I'm going to do it I"m going to do it right, not half assed so that means spending some cash on the set-up. Also, I'll have to totally referb my dizzy(new cap, rotor, TFI mod, coil, wires, plugs) just like I"m having to do the entire brake system, shocks, U-Joints, ect. The car I got is totally thrashed, it's going to take a lot of time and money to whip it into shape.

Don't buy the junk BBK intake for $570 when you can buy a used Explorer intake and throttle body for $250 and get the same or better performance. You don't need anything other than stock fuel rails because you aren't making enough horsepower to require larger fuel rails. You can erase the need for extra fuel line too. No need for a 75mm throttle body which might even cost you a few horsepower on such a mild combination. Use the 65mm Explorer throttle body with the Mustang linkage or just use the stock Mustang throttle body. The horsepower gains you will see from a throttle body will be minimal at best. When I say minimal I'm talking about 3 horsepower. I'd definitely look into a larger mass air meter though but I'd go with a PMAS over the Summit brand. Why do you need new injectors? Just because the outside plastic looks bad? The outside tells nothing about how the injector is working. But if you are going to buy new injectors, get a set of 24lb injectors so you have room to grow a little bit in the future. I'm willing to bet your stock 19lb injectors work fine. As for the heads, $600 is a fair price for rebuilt P heads. But if you look around you might be able to find a low mileage set that needs no major work for $250-$300.

Before you do anything you need to find out why the car runs so bad. Most likely it is a simple problem that is ignition related or a bad sensor. The chances of the entire EFI system being bad is not likely at all. Chances are it will cost less to fix the problem than it will to convert to carb.

I"m sure the injectors are the original with 155K miles on em', I'd just like fresh ones to get me back to normal. I've read that 19# are more then enough for mild builds so I don't need 24# for what I'm going to do. Some guy tried to tell me that a stock 5.0L H.O. had a 65mm TB, I'm pretty sure I read that it's 55mm, who's right? With the better breathing GT40p heads I'd like to get a better intake and TB. So would the Cobra intake be ok or what. What about a 70mm TB and MAF, better or not. See, this is were FI totally confuses me. A good Edelbrock intake and 600cft carb is EASY, all the FI stuff is HARD for me to understand. That's why I'm ready to just give up and go Carb. I know I probably don't NEED billet Fuel Rails but I want them because they look a lot nicer then stock ones. I know that 75% of my problems are head related, 15% is probably the dizzy needing new parts and 10% is probably FI related with sensors and stuff being the main problem(O2's are probably oil soaked from the bad heads) so what do ya'll say I should do with this car. Better heads need a larger TB and MAF and a new Intake, right? Injectors and fuel rails would be nice since I'm in there anyway.

19lb injectors are maxed out at 304 horsepower which you will easily make with P heads and Explorer intake. The Explorer intake is almost a carbon copy of the Cobra intake. The stock throttle body for 85-86 EFI 5 liter Mustangs was 55mm. 87-93 5 liter Mustangs had 60mm throttle bodies. An Explorer intake is all you need with the P heads and will work great with them. Keep the stock throttle body or if you insist on getting a bigger one stick with a 65mm. Get the biggest mass air meter you can find that fits your budget. Wanting and needing are two different things. If you just want the pretty fuel rails than it is not fair to add that cost into the equation when comparing EFI to Carb. I personally wouldn't waste the money on them if they are not needed....unless you have money to burn. I'd scan the car and see if there is anything wrong as far as the EFI system goes. Get the P heads, Explorer intake and maybe 24lb injectors if yours are bad. You will have a nice performing package that won't cost you a whole lot.

darrell is exactly right. spend money on things you need. go through the whole car and make sure everything is clean, tight and functional. do smart upgrades that don't cost a lot of money. its not very hard to make a 5.0 nice if you spend your money wisely
