Another Cam Question......

Sorry for another cam question but I didnt have much luck searching on this one..

Question is: What would be a good cam to use on a GT40P head 302 with Cobra intake and a Vortech S-trim at 10Lbs of boost?? Also important, the heads have a set of Ford 1.72 Roller rockers so that will change things.

Right now I have a Ford E cam and we all know how much everyone cares for the Ford alphabet cams.

I know custom is good but we are looking for a good off the shelf cam that will work better then the E cam... Any advise???????

We????????????

No custom cam....but you are willing to buy another cam that performs equally less???

Spend another 200 on a billet cam and matching springs for another 140.

340.00 to perform better than 99/100 mustangs

Is this the cam that you are talking about??

p/n B-21 Same as B-31 except utilizing 1.7 R.R. N2O or S/C 8-15 lb 302 c.i.d. Best performer for 1.7 R.R., stock pistons and 6200 rpm. Great with TFS or Edelbrock heads. Minimum 30lb injectors and 80mm mass air. Recommend 3.55 or 3.73 gears. Good drivability down to 1900 rpm, mild idle, rpm range 2400-6200, works best with 89-93 EEC, needs 2600-3000 converter. Great N.A. cam for 94-95 Mustang with great drivability. With bolt-down R.R., needs 0.040" longer push rods.

Sounds like this is just what I might be looking for. Has anyone ever run this cam before?

And thanks for the heads up.. I wouldnt have thought to look there for this cam..

Yes we.. The car is mine but my buddy is helping me with my build. This is my first ever Mustang so I am new this. He is the one that gave me the E cam that he has had laying around for years. He was running a Pro car (Mustang, SBF, twin turbo.. Best of 6.88 @209Mph) but with the great economy sold it and has been running the drag radial class. He gave me the cam and said it should work fine but there are better cams out there. I told him I would post here and see what everyone has to offer.
Here is the motor in the drag radial car......

Way more involved then my little GT40P headed Vortech motor!! But I have to start somewhere. So I wanted to ask this question while my block is still sitting on the stand and I get too far along. The heads are ported, have the TrickFlow valve spring kit, and 1.72 FMS roller rockers..

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate the it.. I will give them a call a call. I know the E cam will work and it was free but if there is better , which there is, I would like to use it instead.

The turbo car is insane fast but so are all the cars in the drag radial class these days. Just to keep up with the competition he is building a bigger small block. Here is a video that I made of the car on YouTube...

YouTube - Glenn Adams TURBO Mustang

Nice car! Nice to see he finally got the chassis sorted out. I was getting frustrated for him watching the videos.

We were too.. The front end was chained down to try and keep it from doing wheel stands but it was too tight and unloading the rear suspension. Then it was a converter issue. Now with the new motor it should all be good.. At Bradenton (forgot the name but he was from NY) this guy just ran a 6.9? something at over 200mph on drag radials.. Fox body with twin turbos... Thats a new record!
