Locating a correct 5.0
I am wondering if anyone out there has a short list of 5.0L's that will go into a 91 GT? I am replacing an engine for a guy that broke his crank and he wants to go the "cheap" route. What other cars and or year can you put in a 91 Mustang that will work pretty easily?
Also if anyone has one in Florida......

Are you looking at a short block or a complete engine? Any 5.0 short block should work as a replacement and they are cheap. The more on top of the short block you want to drop in as a replacement, the more narrow your choices will be as a donor (sensors, wiring harnesses, FI, EGR, oil pans, etc..)

my motor is out of a Lincoln LSC, they are TYPICALLY less dogged and less worn out.

I would ideally like to find a complete motor. I would like to get as close as I can with the replacement motor. As for breaking the crank, I would assume overreving it. It came apart at 90mph (as he says) just changing gears on the interstate. He had just bought the car and thought it was a race car. It actually was pretty nice with dart heads, edelbrock intakes and such. It broke right behind the #1 and 5 crank journal. It literally twisted (but didn't break) the #1 rod 90 degrees. I got pics I can post as it does look pretty wild.....
