Is it possible
I have a guy that wants to swap me a set of ported and polished iron gt-40 heads and a comp 2040 cam and a set of brand new sfc for my gt-40 alum. heads....He told me the gt-40 heads had Windsor valves in them and that they were 2.02 and 1.60...Is it possible to put those valves in a gt-40 head?? He said he was running them on a 86 block with flat top pistons and no valve reliefs....He also said that they would work on a stock piston like the ones in my motor....

Dont quote me in it, but i believe the GT-40 Heads Do have Larger valves of that size ( Thats why people use them ) Where the Alum. Although lighter are smaller, i believe the same as the e7's but not exactly sure. But still flow well.
Dont you have GT-40X SVO heads? Those are actually pretty wanted heads by some, but if hes offering new GT-40 heads and a cam( is it new too? ) Then thats not a bad deal. But its up to you, is the cam swap worth the effort? |

True story, andl ike Darrel said. Why would you trade aluminums for irons. Because of the cam? No deal. Tell him to no thanks.

id say it's probably possible to put those valves in there. ive got 1.9 / 1.6 valves in a set of ported e7s on the 331 in my ranger.

The problem is the guy told him the heads have "Windsor valves that are 2.02/1.60". No factory Windsor engine ever came with 2.02 or 1.60 valves and the 2.02 valves won't fit in most factory Windsor heads.

don't trade... use those heads they are decent heads and shave 25lbs off each side of the motor over those iron gt40's.. that right there is worth keeping them in my opinion
