Special Tool


What special tool is required to disconnect the fuel rail from the lines on my 94 gt? I have no clue. anyone got a picture of it and how the hell it comes off?

You can buy the tool at any parts store. It is a fuel line disconnect tool and usually comes as a set.

Just tell them you need the fuel line disconnect tool. If they don't know right away what you're talking about, turn around and find another parts store because they probably don't know jack!

They look like this.. they just slip over the fuel line, and you press it on to release the spring. I have a set of em.. they also work for A/C components.

Harbor Freight has nice aluminum one that fit almost all sizes really cheap..

the metal one works best because you have more leverage that way

i don't have a pic, but the metal tool has 4 different sizes on one tool if i remember correctly

I have used the plastic ones on my 2.3 --> 5.0 swap. They worked well for both fuel lines (main and return) and the air conditioner lines.

Money well spent at a local auto parts shop.

it's a good tool to have around, i had to use it when i changed the fuel pump on my dad's 2000 explorer
