How to find out stock weight? I've heard a few different things: GVWR in the door jam, thats like 4XXX? or Curb Weight, and I have no clue what this means? So does anyone know the weight of GT hatch off the show room floor? Full interior, accessories, so on?

my lx with one stock seat, no carpet, ponys, no smog pump, or A/C, spare and jack, was 3020. no driver. IDK how you can get a car to 2500 with out extensive gutting and lots of fiberglass, and lexan.

My black notchback was in the 2650 area with me in it with no fuel, oil, coolant, alternator, exhaust or interior. It had some of the lightest stuff out there. It takes alot to get a fox body under 2800 with driver and still have the proper safety equipment.

Every bit of factory wiring gone, just carpet on the floor. Just the plastic interior pieces, dash gutted, fiberglass hood. We have a 10 pt cage, 2 black poly seats a 351w/c4 and on a cat scale it was 2580, 2570 2590 and 2620 weighted it 4 times

its an 86 coupe

Lowest I ever saw was 2486 (no driver). Not street legal at all to.

My 91 LX weighed 3192 bone stock without me in the car. My 91 GT weighed just over 3300 with me in the car (I weigh 175lbs) and a set of aluminum heads and lightweight wheels on the car. I don't remember the exact weight, I think it was in the 3340 area. With stock wheels and iron heads you can figure another 100lbs or so. These cars aren't lightweight tin cans like everyone thinks.

3000 shouldn't be too hard. Here is a link to give you an idea where you can save weight. Reinhold Racing - Mustang weight information

Keep in mind that I have not weighed simple things like power steering pump, a/c compressor, smog pump, etc. so there is another 50+ pounds to be saved with those items.
