twin turbos????


im currently building a 96 mustang and im goin the twin turbo route. the engine is 349 in. with a well ported set of 289 hipo heads that flow 210 int. and 170 exst. im usin a holley system max intake 70 lb an hr injectors a a1000 fuel pump and msd ignition. i have good internals and my cam is built for a turbo application and is around 570 lift with a 114 lobe separation. the turbo kit is not new and im not sure the brand but it is twin 57mm turbos with a small air to air intercooler im wonderin if anyone has any ideas on what kinda power i will be lookin at puttin to the wheels at around 8 to 16 lbs of boost...any help or advice would be great thanks!:

On 8 psi look for around 400 and up. Then you do the math.

yup stock 289 block filled with blockcrete billet splayed mains with bb chevy main studs and a valley girdle...i have gone 10.90s on stock blocks before but like i said im new to the whole turbo thing...and really ya think only 400?

my only problem is even with my dish pistons i have a lil over 9 to 1 comp...im plannin on runnin E85 so i can get away with runnin more boost

whats the duration on your camshaft?do you know what the car runs with the motor it has now?whats the bor and stroke of the motor? i think the compression will be fine. and you will probably be making quite a bit more than 400 on 8 psi

the duration on the cam is right at 236int 230ext @ 0.50 the bore is 4.04 and the stroke is what ever a 347 stroker kit comes with i cant really rember lol but i was hopin high to mid 11s on motor alone i am shootin for around 550 if not more to the wheels with the turbo...i had a z-spec t-5 but i sold my stick cause i was affraid it wouldnt handle the power so now i have an aod with a full manual valvebody and trans brake...the tranny is good to 1000 flywheel hp now...

yup, thats a turbo camshaft. 3.4 is the stroke then. heck ya, did lentech build it? i think 550 is attainable for sure, you sound like you know what your doin pretty well

yup lentech did the valve body and mark mickey is gonna help me with the tranny if it gives me any trouble he built me a 4500 turbo/nitrous converter..and ya drag racing is my life ive been doin it since i could walk and talk so is there anything else you can think of that i need?

a few other things i have done are double adjustable uppers and lowers, subframe connectors, custom built tubular k-member, 2"drop spindles, adjustable front struts and adjustable rear shocks, i have a posi and 31spline moser axels not sure on what gear to go with yet, 275 50 15 bfg drag radials, prostars front and back skinnys up front ofcoarse, my efi runs on the f.a.s.t efi system...much more...any ideas on a gear ratio for the rearend?

i cant really think of anything off the top of my head, im guessing the piping for the turbos is going to be custom? what size headers are you going with? why twin turbos and not single, besides the fact that you had them

nice setup. i would go with a 3:73 gear.

im prolly not gonna do that bro....and ya im prolly gonna go with a 3.08 gear so i can tear up the strip and still be very comfortable on the street...

I must have been tired as a mother, a missed cubes and other minor details. You'll make some much higher on low boost such as 8 psi. Sorry to misinform you

Id go 3.27 or 3.55. Give the turbo time to pull through the rpms and really shine

woah 3:08's? if you had a C4 then i would agree, but you have over drive. i still stand with the 3:73's
