Did the same on mine, and it was a a gasket, Mines also carbed though, Check the gaskets up under your TB.

Cheer up Charlie, dont be blue.... Its prolly a vaccum leak. For the "Golden ticket", spray carb cleaner around untill the idle picks up.

thanks for the replies, i have sprayed around everything in the area. i read in another post about there being a possible problem between having a larger throttle body than the opening for the intake. i'm not sure what the standard opening for the gt40 tubular intake is. does that sound possible?

Larger throttle bodies whistle. What is the "IAC restrictor gasket"? Hanging idle is caused by alot of things. Putting a band aid on the problem isn't going to fix it.

Restricting the iac is just gonna make it take longer to make adjustments.

I am having same issue. I have taken it apart the whole lower upper intake twice. Never changed the whistle. I have a trickflow intake and summit 70mm throttle body and egr spacer. It is very annoying hope someone post a way to fix this. Just FYI for anyone with trickflow intake dont spray carb cleaner on it takes the paint off.

There is no way to fix it. Bigger throttle bodies whistle, just like we've been saying.

the iac restrictor allows motor to return to idle faster from rev up, without hanging. i have ground all burrs i could find, as posted by ajhxxxiii, (thanks for the info by the way) but, still, same whistle. cburns, do you have an intake spacer on yours? maybe thats it, i dont know.

That IAC restrictor sounds like a band aid for a problem. That isn't that piece from Ford that goes between the IAC and the throttle body with two air bleed screws in it, is it? As far as returning to idle quickly, as long as everything is functioning properly and is tuned right there will be no issues with the engine returning to idle without hanging. All of my EFI cars have reved like carbureted cars (acutally much better) unless there was a problem. No special restrictors or anything of the sort under my hoods.
