thermostat removed

is there a way to get to that passenger side bolt without removing anything

want to put in this new stat i got but cant seem to figure a way to get to that damn bolt

A small angled open end wrench and some patience. A thinner type ratchet boxed wrench works perfect if you have one. It's even harder to get it back on and the torque spec on those bolts is not high at all. I've seen people crank them on an ill attempt to seal it better and they often jam the bolt in there or crack the housing.

I always use a socket on the passenger side, you have to loosed the one smallest hose, but thats cake. Then an open end on the drivers side. The bolts are long so once there free you will have to play with the housing a bit to get it off. The drivers side takes an open end and alot of patience. I have a blower on my car and just did my tastat. Didn't take anything off.

that bolt sucks.. if you ever go to a march adjustable alt bracket setup you'll never have that problem again from what I found. almost made the cost of the kit worth it just for that lol

Or you could swap to a 351, the bolt sits up higher and you can get a socket on it

what size is that bolt i bought a boxed in 13inch but it didnt fit will a 12 be too small is it metric or standard
