Used AFM PMS tuning issues
Hi, i bought a used PMS 3 and installed it the other day and after about an hour i got the car able to run and go down the road but it still is not running right at all, it seems like any adjustment that i make arent really being applied, ive read the manual but either i didnt get it or it just told me what it was not how to tune it effectively, i really want to learn, any help would be greatly appreciated

If you don't have any tuning experience its going to be very hard to tune without having it on a dyno and also having a wideband O2. There is a reason why people put their cars on dynos to tune them.

The pms has three memory slots meaning it can remember three different tunes.. after you make changes you need to save it before turning the car off because if you don't it defaults back to the tune loaded before you messed with it. If you saved it before turning the key off then your new tune will always be loaded as default until you make more changes and save etc.
You can give Anderson Ford a call and tell them what you have.. they can hook you up with a base tune to work from for like $50 I believe at least that's waht it use to cost. From there you can make small suddle changes as you go and watch your AF. also if you don't have a wideband hooked up then you really are shooting in the dark, take the car to a good tuner with a dyno. He'll throw it up on the dyno and make the changes and since you have a pms already there's no need for burning a tune and purchasing a chip or flip chip so a tune should only run you $200 to 300 bucks ddepending on the tuner and area where as without the pms it would be in the $500 to 700 range.. at least it is around my area |
