Nice car, my dad used to have one. One of the 1st things i would do would be to get a new clutch cable. The stock ones are made of Plastic Nylon and unless the guy before you did it they are shitty. But another thing i would do would be to change it from speed density to Mass air. But depends on what ya want to do with it.

Personally i would just get EQ headers ( so that ya dont have to spend the $350+ on top of new headers for a new H-pipe ) That way ya could just get the new exhaust. And use that money to get new 3.73. gears

Looking at the car it is claen but has been put together from a few cars it appears either it is not a gt or someone has put a lx bumper on it gt have fog lights and they had a diffrent speeedo in them too.I am not tryying to put you down just giving you the heads up. One thing to watch out for on these are they have flat top pistons so you cant really do a cam in them. You can but it is not enough of a cam to be worth the money. I did a 5 lug 4 wheel disc conversion on mine for about $350 best up grade got axles and spindles from scrap yard and bought the rest new.The clutch cable is a must i was sitting at a stop light when mine broke and almost hit the car in front of me. go with a adjustable quadrant on the firewall. A short through shifter will make all the difrrence in shifting to b&m rippers are great i have 2 one on my 97 gt and my 86 gt. Upgrading the computer to a a9l mass air will make a big difference if you plain to mod the motor at all if you mod and don't do this it will still ba adding the same amount of fuel and air and will not no you modded it. Stay away from the under drive pulleys if you want your air to and alternator to work right as well. I have had my 86 for 12 years so i no a little about them and have some of the harder to find parts stored up. Glad yo here you are staying 4 eyeed. If you have any questions pm me.

I'm looking to get a header back exhaust for the car this week and was wondering what most people would go with. The car is so quiet right now and those stock header look awful, really bent tubing and I would figure they would be cast iron. I know of a few custom shops around but I rather buy something I can throw on that is fit for the car. Also I need a new air intake, not looking for something flashy and chrome but I cant drive it with the throttle body open to air like it is now. I would def prefer new parts but if anyone is local to me and has something I can pick up I'd be happy to get it. I'll chekc the classifed section in the mean time.

+1 to the previous post. I am an 86 er GT t-topper as well.
parts are getting retarded to try and find. I have an extra 86 front bumper if you want to come up to canada to get it.
Also i think the only seats that came in them where either gray with red pipeing or blue. correct me if i am wrong. All in all nice paint job on the car looks good
let us know if there is any Q's you got.

Mind if i come up and get the bumper lol i need one mine got hit some %^*&^&(*&&%&%$&^%*& a hole backed in to me in a parking lot i almost went to jail that day anyway the insurance put a crappy one on and it does not fit tight around the side markers I have been looking for a good one for 4 years. I agree on the seats i don't think leather was a optoin until 87 all i have ever seen is the grey with red piping which i have and love i think they make the 86 and i have seen black cloth in one but most are grey. The lx had alot os red or slut red as it is known. How are you t tops seals i am looking at droping %600 on a new set time has not been nice to mine.

Oh and the gt had kind of a orange dash lights to.I have a full dash with air and console in the attic among 3 boxes of hard to find things on those cars the same things are always broke like the armrests and driver seat rips i assume that is why this car does not have the correct seats. They where very pron to cigarette burns to very thin material. I did a double HID conversion on my 4 eye and on my 97 and it made a world of difference.

the GT seats only came with the "hallo" head rest in them aswell.
Correct with the broken arm rest, orange lights, AC,shitty t-top seals and 80's Malboro cigerette burns on the seats.
I ordered a set of t-top seals from either late model or Cj pony, can't remember.

Im pretty positive its an original GT. I would assume the guy who had done the work just used the bumper and gauges to replace broken parts without having to source GT parts. I'll check the vin but the motor is the original and it is a HO 5.0. Oh yeah, and it has the fog light switch on the inside but no fogs! I noticed that the other day.

Sounds like a gt then if it has the switch if he changed the gauges then the milladge is not going to be right to. Gt bumpers can go for a fair amount and the original foglights can go for more then the bumpers i have been chasing them for some time. E bay is your friend. The lx bumper you can get for free most of the time. Yes they do have the halo head rests i have a extra set of them as well the halos came in a few diffrent cars as well. Hopper if you can figure out where you got your seals from let me know i have been holding off on getting them. I am afraid to spend $600 on a set that will not fit right. Is yours a factory t top or a dealer? Mine is a dealer.Sad to say mine is in a million pices right now striped her to the bones for a rebuild and just had surgery but a friend is going to give me a hand getting it back together again. I will post up some pics after a bit if you don't mind me robing your thread ron4543.

When you guys say h/c/i, do you mean headers, camshaft, intake manifold? I'm still trying to catch up on the terms you use. For Honda people use i/h/e, as in intake (tubing and filter, not manifold), header, exhaust.
