What is the speed (accel, mid, top end) difference between the 88-93 foxes and the 94/95 5.0's.. they are the same motor but which is lighter? which would be a better bang for the buck? what handles better? thank you!

In most cases the 88-93 fox 5.0 are going to be a litle faster. I dont know the exact specs but i do now that in 94-95 the motor was detuned a little for the emmission controls. but it was not by very much we are talkin 1.4569. The fox bodys are litter than the 94-95 but agian not by very much about 100 to 300 pounds. I believe the 94-95 is a smoother ride and hadels better. Parts are eiser to find for the 88-93 thou.

I think you can make a fox lighter than you can make a 95-up.
there are so many parts for both cars I think it's pretty much a toss up.
I got rid of ac, smog and put some polly seats in my fox and it weighs 2930lb w/o me in it, and there's alot more weight to shed Id bet you could get it down to about 2700-2800 without too much hassle.

I think it would be close enough that the better driver would win. Its really a toss up. The newer the car the more stuff still works, and the better the condition the car is in, for the most part. If you were looking to buy one I'd say there close enogugh performance wise that you should find the cleanest car.
