Would i feel advancing the timing/ is it worth it?

I'm running 10 degrees right now and using 87octane. I was wondering if i go to 14 advance or so and run 93octane would i feel it enough to worth the the more money at the pump?

definetly advance the timing, 87 Octane is fine if you keep it under 14' and under. if you start to hear a "ping" you know it is pre-igniting, either retard the timing or run higher octane, definetly more power though

+1. IMO, i would go like 14 and just run 87. what motor you have? if you have the stock 302 or H.O. your comression should be at 9 to 1. if you have the gt40 setup you should be running at 8.8 to 1 then i would just go like 12 advanced, just my opinion.

It is worth more power, but usually not more than 10hp on an un-modded engine. The more the engine is modded, the more it will react to the timing advancement. Don't feel bad, my timing is set at 9* initial and 32* total.

i have my timing set back to stock now, 10*, i actually need to advance it again, but when i had my timing set to 14* i could tell a huge difference with it.

it's worth it even on a stock car as long as you run the right octane and don't cheap out because it could cost you an engine

It's free if it works for you.
I even have my 351 Bronco at 13 but to be honest, at 5500+ lbs, I didn't notice a damn bit of difference

ok i have hurd this before, but never understood it fully. the 9* is what you set the harmonic balancer to right? and where does the 32* come from? vacuum advance (or something like that)? how do you adjust that?

the initial timing is what it reads on the balancer. be sure you pull the spout connector before you set it. i dont think you can adjust total timing on an electronically controled engine. im not sure tho. just set it on the balancer and leave it at that.

i set mine at 16* on 93 octane with no knock but every engine is different
