Trying to re-learn my car need some advice.
Just wondering about you guys that have put gears in your car especially 4.10's or more. I put the gears in my car now i'm having to relearn how to run it, before with 3.08's i would shift right at 6000 to keep the car in the powerband, now with the 4.30's i've noticed shifting at 6000 puts the RPM's back around 4800 or so and i have to shift again a second later, not to mention that it just feels like its leveled out and not really making anymore power, shifting at 6000 it never felt like it really was all that special until 3rd gear, i guess because it had time to actually stay in the powerband for a second, i've read a few places that powerband for a stock 5.0 is gonna be somewhere around 3200-5700. (if thats wrong please correct me) But i've tried shifting at 5500 which in 2nd puts the car back to about 3800 and it feels alot stronger and in 3rd puts it back to about 3400. Now i know that what feels strong or fast when you're driving doesn't always mean thats its faster. Any suggestions??

A stock 5 liter is dead around 5200 rpm. You are over geared which is why you need to shift more often and is probably why it feels "leveled out" because it is reaching that point quicker in every gear faster than it did with the old gears. After you drive it for a while you will adjust to it.
