motor knocking

my motor is knocking. it seems to be coming from the middle. what can be the cause and is it worth fixing.
my ideal is a lifter but i have also been told it could be a bent rod. if its a lifter should i just replace all or just the bad one. and how would i do this or should i have a shop do it.

There is a very big difference between lifter/valvetrain noise and bottom end (rods) noise. Find someone that can tell the difference so you can determine what the problem is.

+ 1 bottom end noise is deff more of a solid sound rather just a tick like a lifter can make. if its just a lifter, if you have a general knowledge of the motor and pretty basic hand tools you should be able to do it. if you feel the least bit nervous either take it someplace or have someoen with mroe experience help.

So you only have oil pressure after the car has been running for a minute????

valve noise will be like a tick and rod knock is heavier and it even sounds worse.

theres oil pressure it says a quature a way from the bottom for like a min but i think that has to do with the oil leak. bc right now i dont have alot of oil to any.
the knocking does quit down sometimes but it never goes away

and you're still driving it around for 6 months like that...i dunno if its something in your bottom end or not but if your oil pressure is erratic like that i'm suprised you haven't thrown a rod yet. check the sending unit make sure its functioning properly.

if it leaks oil and you dont check it regularly theres a good chance its a bottom end knock not valvetrain

Does the car have a T-5, if so does the noise go away when the clutch is pushed in?

the noise seems to still be there even with the clutch pused it.

SERIOUSLY... Shut your freaking car off and quit driving it. You know oil is one of the most critical components to a motor yet your fine with driving around when its low? And by checking your oil regularly ( with a leak ) they mean to actually pop the hood and check it on the dipstick before you drive it. Dont wait for the dummy light to come on, ussually by then its too late.
