Anybod running a 225/60 16? pics?
I was thinking of steppin up to a 225/60 16 from my 225/55 16s for a tad more ground clearance and I can get a super deal on a set of street tires. Anybody have any pics?

whats the widest you can go on these? mine is lowered a little, so i dont know if i would be able to run real wide, but i plan on getting the drag kit soon anyway. i have hurd 10.5" is the widest you can go without mini tub or a full tub

i've got adjustable lower cntrl arms on the rear and took off my quads to try it out and the lauch from a standing start was pi** poor... even turning corners there is a very noticeable difference from taking them off... not to say you cant do it just try and think of the consequences it will have on the ride quality whether street or strip for when you do it... take them off first and see what the car feels like provided you have new lower cntrl arms... im lucky the 9" wide rims (ET20) just clear the quads about 2mm with no rubbing... |

Your quad shock theory is wrong. Quad shocks serve one purpose on a Mustang and that purpose is to control wheel hop. They don't help traction and they don't help cornering. There are no consequences from taking them off. If you noticed a lack of traction or a difference in handling then you have issues some where else. Maybe a control arm or pinion angle issue. You won't find quad shocks on any stock style suspension drag cars or road race cars. I wonder why.... The best thing anybody can do for their fox body is to take the quad shocks off and factory lower control arms off and throw them in the garbage. Then put some good lower control arms on.

in terms of cornering if you haven't upgraded most of your suspension components (ctrl arms, sway bar etc) then you will feel the difference, the same with lack of traction because of the wheel hop as well as acting like a small stabiliser which yes you can remove... probably should have expanded and been a bit clearer... as for the widening the fender lips it was just a thought... seen something done with the front and rear fenders blown out and it looked pretty cool gotta admit i thought it was gonna be crap like u think but it looked pretty cool in a way (i wouldnt do it on mine though) but like i said we all have different tastes on what we do on our cars just gotta choose what you want... no harm in throwing ideas around to get your nut ticking to build something new and different to what everyone else has done

Fender flares, yeah that makes sense now. I originally thought you were saying throw a spacer on and let the wheels hang 2 inches out of the wheel well.

and lol if you want a monster truck buy the proper thing i say LOL dont make one with your mustang no no no no no looool the image i had in my head was if you flair the fenders enough you can put some moderate spacers on the wheels to push them out to match the level of the fenders and keep the quads in but like i said its thinking outside the box lol now i think about it more it does seem s**t lol!!!!!! just take em off LOL!! |
