Slicks need opinions fast

Mickey Thompson Pro Street Race Tires and Rims

I talked him down to 500.00 are these worth it? Would they even fit on my 88 notch?

Those don't have a snowballs chance in hell fitting on your car. 29x18.5 should have been your first clue.

Not specific to this set which won't fit your car anyway but "older" hand me down slicks can start getting a little hard and dry and are boardline useless.

They aren't slicks, they are Mickey Thompson Sportsman street tires. Not an ideal tire for racing.

you need either a 26x10.5 or if you have some work to the motor and some gear out back a set of 28.x10.5

Here's an idea of what they would look like, the work involved would be FAR more than the cost of the tires
You don't need tires that big to run "fast".

Biiger can be better. But not with a 100 percent all season tire.

Done the correct way, with all the correct modifications to axles and such, but if your put making that much power, thats no use in a 15" wide rear tire, it would actualy hurt you becasue your motor is not powerful enough to turn them like a 800-1000hp car does.
