Behind the radiator? Or in front of the radiator with some wire mesh in front of it... Not like on the bumber but actually on the cooler itself.

Not really worth it. You won't notice any gains from it. About the only thing you will have is the ability to say "I have an oil cooler".

well im not expecting gains im expecting to cool my engine more becasuse i run my car hard
doesn't my radiator need airflow, thats what i should have asked, i thought about in front of the radiator but i dont want to hurt the airflow to the radiator

I agree just something else to leak or clutter up the engine bay in my opinion. I'd say if you were running a turbo then it would be a decent idea but not really needed on a n/a car unless your road racing the car.

I doubt if you run your car as hard as I run my cars and an oil cooler is a waste of time and money for me. But its your car and if you want an oil cooler, more power to you. Just don't expect to see any gains whether it be in horsepower or temperature decrease or anything else. Now if you are a hardcore road course racer, that is a different story.

whats a hardcore road cruser? i often make a 3 hour drives between my home in nv to ca with hight outside temps and hard driving a measly 130 for a oil cooler inst much if it will help keep parts of my engine cooler than usual
i DO NOT expect horsepower gains

Put one on if you want. It certainly won't hurt. Sounds like you've already made your decision and are trying to justify it anyway.

you could mount your cooler in a remote location if you put a small electric fan mounted to the cooler. I think summit sells them. Or you could google 12v electric fans and find one that will give you the most cfm. U could probably mount it anywhere in the engine bay as long as it has an air supply and somewhere for the heat to go. As for putting it in front of the radiator i wouldnt think it would mess with air flow to the radiator. They put AC condensors in front of the radiator from the factory and they are alot bigger than an oil cooler would be. If it were me designing a car Id put the radiator in front of the condensor. I dont see why ud want to transfer the heat coming off from the condensor and pass that hot air into the radiator but they must know what they are doing right?

thanks for that i didn't even think to locate it remotely and use a fan that is a good idea, if i decided to get one thats is what i will do, i hate seeing my temp gauge always up i want the car to run as cool as possible, so cai and new 4 core radiator and electric fans is a must, just have to decided if an oil cooler will make enough difference to do it

I have a nice Ford Racing aluminum radiator with twin Spal electric fans for sale. It cooled 562rwhp with no problems at all.
