smog pump delete with vortech

89 gt. how do you delete smog pump with vortech charger? the alternator gets relocated and attached to smog pump. i want to delete the pump all together and use a shorter belt, what do i do with the alternator? is this possible? im in the middle of it now and info is appreciated.

well to delete the smog pump, just take it out. you just need to buy a shorter belt to fit. the alternator stays if your just takeing the smog pump off. but if you have the vortech im sure they send bracketry for mounting???

You have you get a smog pump delete pulley, or else the alternator bracket has nothing to attach to. And to the op. What massive crank pulley and hci are you running to make 13psi on a stock upper pulley and 490 to the ground?

thanks for the info, i did not know you had to buy the delete pully. now is there a spacer you could possibly make to go in place of where the smog pump or delete pully would go?

I don't get what your saying. The smog pump delete is a braket with a dead pulley.

right, and idk cause i dont have my car to go look at right now, but i assume the lower bolt on the alternator is the same for the smog pump which where the bolt goes through is like 3" long before the bolt goes into the block. well what im saying is if someoen doesnt want the pully, just wants to delete it completly, could you take a piece of tubeing and cut it to the same length as the smog pump delete pully?
