Bad vibration on 1989 Mustang GT

I noticed that I have a bad vibration on my car especially when I decelerate from approx from 80 to 65 mp/h and it feels like I was driving on the "rugged" band on the side of the road which is not the case...I don't feel this vibration on lower speed like 60 mp/h and less in lower gears though...I have new tires, freshly balanced and aligment just done...Any ideas of what could cause that problem??

usually the problem at that speed is either the wheel bearings or you shifted a belt inthe tires.

When did the problem start? Possible causes are tires, u-joints, driveshaft out of balance........just like the other guys mentioned.

No I haven't check my U joint, it is the one that came with the drive shaft with my T-5 conversion kit and I have no idea how old it is...

I think the problem started after the new tires and/or after I had the car aligned...

i'd def. check the u joints mine would vibrate horrible at any speed above 40 mph and around 80 mph it would shake the shit outta the car. put new joints in and it rides like a new car.

Should I change the U joints first and if it doesn't solve the problem then change the drive shaft??

well you can have the driveshaft checked to make sure its balanced....like someone asked before do you have gears??? see if you can get under the car and see if the drive shaft has alot of play in it...if it does then its the U joints.

Ok I'll go check it out and as I said in a previous post, I still have the original 2.73 gears...

The first thing to do is make sure all of the lug nuts are tight. If they are all tight and the problem started after the new wheels and tires then take it back to the shop that did the work and tell them the problem you are having and that they need to fix it.

I would also check the driveshaft bolts. They tend to back out if you don't tighten them enough.

Thanks bro...I'll have a look at it also since we had to remove it to change the imput shaft seal recently...The bolts might not be tight enough...that makes a lot of sense...Thanks again...
