high revving 5.0

if u wanted to be able to rev ur 5.0 to like 8000rpms what would be a must to do safely...

deffently an aftermarket block (4 bolt main)
balanced/forged internals

good rockers and valve springs but what kind of rockers and springs, like what would have to get built in order to rev this high and maintain the engine...

Dart,A4 or a mexican block can take you there if balanced correctly. Run a 255 crank with light parts. Custom solid roller.
4.56's
Trick flow hi ports......etc

Depends on what you have

I'll be revving this stock short block to 7000....let you know how long it takes the beating.

well at least 7k, i want to make good power from mid to hi rpm range,

ive talked to older guys that built there old 440 dodge BB's to rev to 10k and they were shifting at 8k,

so our LIL 302 can rev to 7 or 8k, it shouldnt be that hardm if a BB old carbed motor can do, we deffently can with EFI, and great tune and a solid built motor.

i wanna run turbo, keep it a 302 and make amazing power around 7000rpm

powert band from like 2000 to 7000 maybe???

Why de-stroke a 302....? Stroke is plenty short.....I would rather spin a 347 8000 than spin a 302 8000

About $20,000....

Block, lightweight internals, solid roller, shaft rockers, titianium retainers, etc.

And I have to ask, why?

100% total bullshit. Show me a guy that claims his 440 Chrysler (that isn't some form of pro race engine) that spins 10,000 rpm and I'll show you liar. 8,000 shifts.....

It really doesn't matter anyway because if the engine is not making power at that rpm then all you are doing is going slower.

Why do you want to spin a million rpm? Are you building a dedicated race car or what? 7000 rpm is do able but I'd be more focused on putting together a good combination that fits your application.

Hey darrell how do you determine what RPM your motor stops producing power? is that the number like lets say 340 rwhp at 5700 rpm's? so that car would reach peak hp at 5700?

A dyno tells you where your engine stops producing power. If your peak power was 340hp at 5700 rpm then 5700 rpm is where the engine stops gaining horsepower. How fast it falls off from there depends on many things. Some combinations have a relatively flat power curve that falls off slowly while other combinations die quickly after peak horsepower.
