help...


hey guys. Alright so i went to start my 92 gt up and it wont turn over. It sounds like it wants to it just keeps cranking. my friend had this happen to his jeep last week and it was the crankshaft positioning sensor. i was just wondering could it be this on my car? has anyone of changed this on thiers? how hard is it?

You can 100 % rule the crankshaft positioning sensor out lol.

havent got a chance to pull a plug just jumped on here to see what you guys say, ill go do that. and why is the crankshaft positioning sensor ruled out?

check your fuel pressure? Did you pump whine real loud before?

ha yeah i was gonna ask if i even had one, didn't wanna sound dumb. But nah i think its the fuel pump its not whining like it usually does when i turn the key forward its not doing anything.

CHECK PLUGS. when is the last time you did a tune up? leaving things like that for a long enough period of time will cause the car to quit starting

oh yeah i forgot to say i checked the plugs there perfect, i also have spark. i just did a tune up probably 2 months ago.

Yep, looks like your pump took a dump... Good time to upgrade... Silence as you turn your key to the acces. position is always a good indicator of that.

Its not bad... I have done plenty off the ground in my driveway. Hopefully your tank isnt very full, thats kind of the make or break item on how much of a pain it will be. Its also helps if your strapps arent all rusted and the bolts arent siezed.

It should be prety simple... I would rate it as a 3 or at most a 4 on a 10 scale.

Yep, drop the tank, pull the pump assy. out of the top of the tank, Pull the pump out of the housing, replace, put back together, and your off to the races... ( obviously I skipped over the little tid bits, but you get the idea... )

haha yeah, thanks for the help. any suggestions on a pump to go with, or should i just stick to the stock replacement. Over the summer im looking at doing a gt40p heads and cam setup. don't know if i should get an aftermarket one since im doin a lil modding.

Walbro 255. It will handle any fuel needs you could possibly have...
They are around $100 everywhere...
