I have never heard of this

Ok, the guy that is doing all the work on my heads (gt40) said that if I have .020 milled of the heads, I would also have to have my lower intake machined to keep the correct angle V-shape if you understand what Im saying. I have never heard of this in my life and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing. This is my first motor build so I'm learning as I go along

I doubt you will have to with only taking .020 off the heads. But that is correct info. If you mill alot off the heads you sometimes have to cut the intake so it fits.

You can mill up to .065 off of GT40's safely.

That would be what the shims are for.. to raise the rocker arm.. keeping the pushrods the same length.

two thou wont require an intake mill. A nice set of felpro gaskets will take up the slack.
