what kind of mufflers should i buy

so when i bought my stang i scraped the mufflers that were on it a lot going into steep driveways and when turning real sharp, and now with my new exhaust i already ripped one of the new mufflers off, so i was wondering if anyone has some suggestions on smallest performance mufflers

or maybe glass pack mufflers

i will need to pass smog and my budget for the mufflers is under 200

i want to eventually do my suspension and lower my car a bit and i cant do that if im scraping now as it is

i have dumps and i dont want to change that if i dont have to

also i dont want cherry bombs as i think they sound crappy and kinda ricer
i want a good tone, i want my muscle car to sound like a muscle car

Thats not making alot of sense. Idk how your exhaust could be hanging that low on stock suspension. Unless your midpipe up to the dumps aren't on hangers. I've seen that before though.

go with magnaflow and make sure you hang everything up nice and tight, my car is dropped about 2 inches and my exhaust barely ever scrapes

Over the years my favorite sounding is mac but i've found on a few turbo vehicles of mine ultraflow yield the best results so im not sure what model they tested in that link posted above but I always use the round ss version.

im unhappy with my exhaust now, so this is what im thinking of going too
will this setup be ok with a turbo 10 to 12 psi

BBK 5.0L 302 LONG TUBE HEADERS
BBK 1659 Short 2.5" X-Pipe w Cats
MAC 1979-93 2.5" Pro-Dump - Dura black coated

now i just have bbk equal length headers stock pipe stock cats and flowmasters mufflers
i assume tis will be better for performance as well as sound

i looked well and it looks like i was scrapping because the mufflers were not hung well

shouldnt scrape if the car is stock height.

expect some scrape if you lower the car, but mines lowered, and hardly ever have scraping. I try to go over speed bumps sideways though....yes , that means I drift over speedbumps...

Turbos require a specific set of "turbo" headers since the turbo is mounted to the exhaust.

you can but with a turbo there is only one pipe going back.. you could just slap a muffler on. My down pipe has runs out to a race bullet and dumps. I sold my x pipe and catback because it's more weight and not needed with the turbo setup.

But anyways if you do go turbo, don't go with a baffled type. Read
