Time to pull the motor.. your bearings shouldn't be stuck in the oil filter.. Its bad but just how bad is the question.. Get that puppy out and post some pics.

If you hang out in a Bronco/F150 forum, you will here about a much larger percentage of 302/351's knocking and dying an early death (100-200K miles) then I do here. In fact my own 351 Bronco has a pretty bad knock as well at 137K miles. I don't know if truck people don't care of them, they are "worked" harder because of the extra weight of the trucks, there are far more trucks out there than Mustangs, Mustang people swap them out or rebuild more often or what. Of course for every one that fails early, there is another one that makes it to 200k+ without a problem. Strange either way.
Just an observation.

Yeah I wouldn't swap a truck engine in unless you plan to rebuild it.

i plan on rebuilding it.....i just really really dont wanna pull my stock 302 and just rebuild it....it just seems like so much work for nothing....maybe ill go ahead and keep that engine and get a 347 stroker kit....i just really wanna dont wanna reuse those stock e7s.....the stock 351 heads are a lil better than e7s arent they

Maybe something to do with the location of the oil pickup. May run into oil starvation problems under heavy acceleration.

Hey bud between my friends and I we prob have 3 or 4 more 302's in great shape. Trying to clear out the garage. Let me know if you need an engine real cheap! I know it sucks being off the road forever.

I had a a 1997 f 250 with a 351 x cab long bed that I had in high school. I fourwheeled it, tow'd boats, jet ski's,cars you name it. I loved that truck. I took it to lakes all over the state all the time. It had 255,--- miles on it when i sold it and it still would do 75 pulling two jet ski's up hills and all with 0 issues. I fucking miss that truck it was awesome. I even took the back seats out and made a huge custom box with 2 kicker l7's any ways i found a crib matress that sat perfect on top of the box and i would sleep on the box at the lake it was awesome. I would even let the truck idle with the ac on for like 8 hours while i slept cause it would be like 95 degrees at night at some of the az lakes i went to.
