Im stuck on this one

90 mustang with a 347

stock computer with a rev extender car runs great other then converter being to loose here is my problem

after my burnout the check engine lite will come on and car will start to run like shit I have to keep the rpm's up around 1500 to 2000 while trying to stage. it wants to cut off and has many times ( what a pain) then the check engine lite is off byy the time im on the return road
Car runs great idles perfect Im lost on this one... 10.90's 11.0's everpass its just a pain in the ass to stage now 42 lb injectors pro-m meter c-4 70mm tb 1.45 60's on 28in tires

best so far is 6.80@98 1/8 10.92 @117.85 with a 1.41 60ft

Check for codes. If I was to shoot in the dark I'd say it has to do with those 42lb injectors (which are way to big for that set up) or the mass air meter. Aftermarket mass air meters are known to cause idle and driveability issues because they fool the computer for injector calibration.

Darrel,

We had to go to 42 lb injectors the 36 were to small ran way to lean now it runs real good A/f and EGT temps are good

it did this with the 36's and the 42 's PRO-M meter brand new cali for the injectors and this is not a idle problem it will idle all day long

but do a burn out in it and then it starts I think its something to do with a TEMP sensor but I know nothing about the TEMP Electronics on this car or were to begin

Unless you are making over 560hp, you were no where near lean with 36lb injectors. I ran 30lb injectors in a couple of 347s that ran 10.80s in a heavy car and they never ran lean. Since you are only running 117mph, you aren't making much more than 340hp at the tire or 425hp at the flywheel. Why do you say it runs lean with 36lb injectors? Has this car ever been on a dyno?
