Hideing the factory harness/relays/etc. in fenders

I would love to see some pics of anybody who has hid the harness in the fenders. Im gunna start extending the harness tomorrow and would like to hear some tips/advice of anybody who has done this. I guess im going to label everything at the sensors or clips and pull the harness out and re-route the harness in the fenders. Im also going to take out the windshield washer resivor and put the starter relay and all those wires that hook up to it in the fender as well. id like to see some pics to make sure the end look is going to be worth the trouble. Im guessing im just going to cut the wires, extend them by soldering them and useing shrink tubeing to cover the solder joint. any objections w/ my plan? Oh and if I just disconnect the battery will I be ok, or is there capacitors holding any juice to any wires in the harness? I dont want to short anything out by cutting all the wires up in my wireing harness.

Word of advice... dont put the soleniod in the fender... its then a PITA t time the car or do anything that has to be hooked up to the battery... if you have a relocation kit...

I put mine in the fender, but I can easily movie it to the stock location without extending any of these wires, just a matter of preference really!

i think it looks good when you wrap the wires with electrical tape that matches color of other things in your car like blue tape to match the spark plug wires and cai

imo

I have run the wiring thru the fender many times but never took pictures.

Its fairly simple. Take your time and solder all connections. Its nice to get the wires out of the engine compartment. It cleans things up a bit.

I Didn't have to do any cutting and soldering, just take off the old wire loom and re-wrap everthing... Here's mine though. I'll find a "Bay" picture when I get back from work, Sean everytime I see your engine bay I Jizz a little. fyi.

Damn sean i agree with the dude above. I kinda got a hard on looking at your engine bay. Im definitely going to do it now. I did notice your water pump bypass. how u have it looped back into the other tube on the water pump. Can I do that if im not useing a heater core anymore? The water temp sensor is on the stock rail that one of the bypass hoses ties into correct? If i just put a water pump gague and tie it into the front driver side intake mainfold, is that all ill need to do to get rid of that stock coolant rail that runs along side the intake manifold? I did notice your panels you made just in front of the strut towers. Did u just use one piece of sheet metal with a slight roll towards the bottom, weld it in place and bondo it? It looks great like that. Ive seen some people that have just made a panel at the bottom and notched it out but it looks a lot easier the way it appears in you pic. Great job man! I have no idea why someone posted " why would u want to shave the engine bay", it looks freaking beautiful!

I'd cap the return and run the other one to the bypass in the intake. It will help the engine warm up by circulating coolant before the thermostat opens.

When you put the wires in the fenders wouldnt it make it a pain in the ass if you ever had an electrical issue and had to check wires? Or just work on the electrical at all
