air comes into my car next to the shifter

I need a way to insulate the area aruond the shifter . I was thinking about car audio insulation, to keep that hot air from getting up into the shifter area, and also It would deaden the sound too,no? what do you think would be good for this?

Yeah i think it would be better to just replace the boot.

I had the same problem on a 86 5.0 i used to have. The hot air blowing into the cab of the car turned out to be a blessing in the winter time cause the car's heater didnt work
