my timing is set at 20 atdc

so what do you think? I dont know what the previous owner(s) had done to the car. It was reletively stock when I bought it, besides the flowmaster. The car has holes where a strut tower brace once was I beleive.

the car runs great.

I checked the timing using the right place, right?

Did you use a timing light?

Things can be off..... Most pointers are not accurate from the factory...few degrees off.

Rubber balancers seem to slip sometimes too............

yes, see the pic? I used a timing light. not trying to be a smart ass, but yes I did, how else do you check timing?

when I check it, the reading seems to flutter back a forth a bit around 20 degrees. I DID use the right spark plug wire with the timing gun, right? (see pic)

I know, im stupid with cars.

so what do you guys gather from this? Im curious to know more about this..

+1 make sure your spout connector is unplugged. it is a twin wire that runs near your distributor. there will be a plastic plug on the end. unplug it.. and check you timing. It usualy bumps up the timing by approx 10'
if this is the case, unplug it and reset you timing around 12' - 14' advanced (btdc)

I have an H22 in my 92 civic. It takes a Honda big block with cams, built head, tuned ecu and bolt ons and a 2400 lb car to feel ADEQUATE lol

You pull the spout connector to set the timing. You don't drive it that way!
