K Member question

Do all aftermarket K members require a coilover conversion on the front end? Im looking at shedding some weight off my front end but dont really want to convert to coil overs...

What are some of the pros on switching over to coil overs?

QA1 you can use the perches on it with a stock A arm....

but after going to coil over on the front, I will never go back... not sure about out back yet though.

They drop weight, easy to adjust, and made my car transfer weight better.

I've used both qa1 and upr k's with stock a arms you just need to purchase the "spring perches" but just so your aware the qa1 k's although cheaper in price will move your wheels a little forward for better center of gravity when used with stock a arms. If you don't want that you have to use there tubular a arms.

Upr doesn't move your wheels at all.

Great info guys... I apreciate it. So you think I should just get over it and swap out the fronts for coil overs?

I know you mentioned UPR & Q1A, but what do you think about D&D? I have been using a few of their suspension items and have not had one iota of problems...

Get tubular control arms and get coil overs. There are no cons that I can think of. Pros include better suspension geometry, weight reduction, adjustability, spring rate selection, etc.

d&d is a great company and there stuff is just as good as anybody elses so if you went that route you'd be good.

I avoided coil overs on my dd hatch because three friends of mine that do have coil overs on there dd foxes hate them and pretty much forced me to keep the stock a arms. They are harsh and make noise, the adjustment and weight savings is great as well as the looks but after seeing there cars and what they were talking about I kept the stock a arms. This was a few years ago so who knows shit might be better now plus allot of people like coil overs so do what you want.

I did do coil overs on my awd turbo pickup in my avatar and love them but it's a different animal all together

They either have a cheap kit or the wrong springs. Springs that are too stiff will make a rough ride.

D&D is like putting you hand in a hat and hoping you pick a good one. mine worked and lined up great, 2 of my friends (ive read about several more) didnt line up worth crap, so its just the luck of the draw.

I agree. In the last few years I could have had 4 or 5 D&D k-members for free because some friends of mine bought them and they fit like shit so they thru the pieces of shit in the garbage. No joke.
