newbie owner - badass stang


Hello there. My name is Jon Martin, I just bought a 1991 mustang 5.0 with a vortec supercharger. I'll have the car in my hands within 2 weeks, hopefully sooner.

Could someone help me out and estimate the numbers on a setup running:

P&P GT40 heads
e303 cam
cobra efi intake mani
30# injectors
70mm TB
vortec supercharger - not sure which trim or how much boost- probably 10-15psi
jba shorty headers
bbk h pipe catless
arrow cat back

custom dynotune (obviously)

I know it has a custom tune and what not. The car is cherry inside and out, really, a dream vehicle for me. I come from the world of VW/Audi vehicles, primarily, though I'm into v8's and stangs through my cousin (900hp lightning) and my roomate, a big mustang gt buff.

With those 30lbers, your prob not on 10-15psi of boost. Which means chances are your under 400hp. Probably around 350 or so.

I got $100 that says, this kid has a "A" trim blower with 6-8 psi , and making around 345-360rwhp as you said.

30lb injectors only hold about 350hp?

emailed the guy that has the stang currently....

they've got 3-5 dyno sheets

Bob said it was running (person who built the car)last dyno 525 it was running 575 but they took it down to the 525 to be safe.

I'm a smart guy. I'll have all the nerdy info and dyno sheets once I actually pick up the car. I was just looking for estimates from the 'scene'.

is the e 303 cam sought after? and the heads....?

I'm assuming it has an FMU so you can get over 350 with them but 30# injectors and 525-575 RWHP should never be considered safe. Unless maybe you are somehow running over 100# fuel pressure.
Either way, the other mods you listed to not come close to that HP level.

Bullshit. He is feeding you a line of crap. There is no way that car is made 575hp (or 525hp for that matter) with those bottleneck GT40 heads and Cobra intake. Besides that, those injectors won't support that much horsepower. I don't care if he is talking flywheel or rear wheel horsepower, that combination isn't making that much power at either one. Be careful with this car because the guy is already feeding you a line of shit. How much more is he lying about or hiding?

I can sell my minivan and send along dyno sheets that say 742hp.....

LOL I totally agree with Darrell, why would he skimp on injectors and be bragging about dyno numbers that'll shatter a stock block when selling a car?

I mean i've seen cars make in the high 470's and destroy a stock block so anything beyond that isn't concidered safe to me now matter who is tuning it.. just a ticking time bomb.

Ask him what model blower, how much boost and what size pulley he's pulling this off with
