Finally New Clutch....

I'm getting ready to order my clutch but thought i'd get some feedback first from some of you guys...If some of ya remember me posting my miserable 10.0's in the 8th lol, mostly that was due to the clutch slipping. I had intended on getting a clutch a while back but had some other things come about that i needed to tend to. So i've had the same clutch in the car, since then though i've put 4.30's in the car and the clutch in 1st and 2nd just slips up until around 4000 rpms or so. So i'm sure its about to crap out. Here's my question i had planned on ordering a Spec Stage II. But i've heard from some people thats too strong of a clutch for my car...any ideas?? or any suggestions on what to buy?

I dislike spec clutches but that's just me..

I would go with a Ram HD or a King Cobra..

ive also heard great things about the king cobra, im runnin a centerforce dual friction...it took a little getting used to, but ive been running it for almost 3 years now and never had any problems, and it still grips just as good as the day i installed it...(well prior to my blown tranny and engine build it worked well haha).

i am running the king cobra and i like it....you want a clutch that will hold power but u dont really want it to be real grabby because thats what breaks things

spec are great clutches, most people that come into CRT performance for a clutch job get a spec clutch. The deciding factor on reliability and durability are how you break them in. I love my stage 2

im sure with a bunch of take offs like that you can just about ruin any clutch after a period of time

What was the point of you posting a video of you losing to a s2000? I'm on 10psi with a king cobra clutch with the stock flywheel and pressure plate. I didn't even have the flywheel resurfaced when it came out before I put the blower on. IT works fine.

With your power level you'd be wasting money if you spent more for a clutch then what a king cobra cost. Id' suggest going with that or a centerforce dual friction. The df will have a bit stiffer pedel feelign but takes a hell of a beating. I've had a few issues with spec clutches so I never recommend them.

I had a king cobra.... I orginally hated it. But after 200+ passes half on nitrous and it only slipped once in 4th on nitrous. Happy with it now that I took it out, although it had some hot spots on it, that's understandable with 400 ft pounds launching at 5000 on slicks.
