The 351C is a 4 bolt main I think and is stronger and better for racing and high hp, but the downside is the after market is not very big, as far as I know. And Im betting its a 2V

early 351w blocks are stinger than laters. 351w can hold slot more power than a 302 block

2v clevalands are garbage. they suck dog balls when its hott outside. if you go with a 351c go with the 4v. my father in law has one and it rips good. and to answer your question about the difference, pretty much everything on the clevlands are different from the windsors.

best thing is use the best of both, W block and C heads. Makes a killer motor.

make sure its not a 351M it looks the same as the cleveland it just has a 1.1 inch taller deck height.

only cobra jet clevelands were 4 bolt, there are plenty of 2 bolt cleveland blocks out there

so that's why edelbrock makes aftermarket 2v style heads? and everyone runs the closed chamber 2v aussie heads

Modified series engines suck, best thing to do to a 351m is find a 400 crank

Heads have like a 82cc chamber small ports, just not a great motor for performance

best thing to do with them is a rv cam, 0deck the block with some flat tops and watch it pull stumps all day long

2v and 4v has to do with the port size on these earlier engines not valve per cylinders. the 2v is larger combustion chamber and the 4v is a smaller combustion chamber. nothing to do with how many valves per cylinder on these

v stands for venturi as in the number of venturis the carbs had that went with the corresponding heads. 4v heads went with the 4 barrel carbs. 2v heads went with the 2 barrel carbs.

nobody really builds clevelands anymore because parts are scarce and good blocks are hard to come by. If you find 5 blocks, one or two of them might be good to make more than 400 hp if you sonic check them.

I have had three 600rwhp 351 clev's there the best thing since sliced bread in my book but people have different out looks on them. I run 4v closed chamberd chi heads from alstralia on mine... makes awsome numbers. I've ran both 2v and 4v both can be a good set up if you use the right parts. but you def need a 4 bolt main block to do so. and like they said there hard to come by the motor in my car now...I found the block in cali it was being used as an air compressor!!

They are hard to come but yes but it all depends on your plans with it. It your serious about building one you can always get an aftermarket one. The one we have now is a dart block
