Newbie here... Need Experienced Opinions...

So I'm pretty new to this whole Foxbody 5.0 thing and to be honest I don't really know that much about cars. I work at a desk for a living, I'm not exactly a mechanic. I'm limited to doing simple things on my own like changing brake pads and doing tuneups, not overhauling transmissions and changing bottom end parts.

None the less here's the story. I have an 87' fox 5.0. It still is speed density.

The previous owner rebuilt the motor but when I bought the car I lost the sheet he gave me with the work that's recently been done to the car. (my dumbass, I know...) So I have no clue if the heads are stock E7's or if they're maybe a mild upgrade like a GT-40/P and I don't know what cam is in it. I recall him telling me the car has what he called a "mild" cam in it, and I do believe it cause to me the power band seems to be up there. It's making good power to about 6 grand. Also people that have heard it run all tell me it sounds like it has a cam.

As far as bottom end goes I honestly don't know if he did any work when he rebuilt the motor or if he just kept it all stock. I'm assuming that since it has the stock EFI plenum and TB that the bottom end is probably not built up either.

I do know that I have MAC shorty headers and I have an off road H pipe. I also have a MAC fender-wall air intake. The injectors look yellowish so I'm sure they're just faded stock 19# injectors.

I just recently had a Holley 255 LPH fuel pump installed, I had a 3:73 rear gear installed on the stock 8.8 and I bought a brand new Ford Racing T-5 cause the 5th gear went out in my old one. Finally I did buy weld on sub-frame connectors.

So this is what I have to work with here. Now you have the background info.

My goal for the car isn't to have a 600 HP 9 second drag car. I live in the middle of Chicago and on city streets there isn't enough room to enjoy something like that. Plus my car has the stock brakes which means it doesn't stop for shit and there's no use in having all that go-power with no stopping power to back it up.

I'm looking to have a very nice street able car with at least somewhat decent idle that I can drive on a nice day but when I romp on it still has a little balls to it. If it were able to keep up with a stock or mildly modded 2002 "F" Body with an LS1 in a 1/4 mile dash I'd be happy enough. I've been told that with a fox body this isn't hard to do.

So here's my situation....

I acquired a set of brand new Trick Flow Street Heat upper and lower manifolds, a 70mm Summit brand throttle body and egr spacer plate, a BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a set of brand new 30lb per hour fuel injectors. None of these are on the car yet.

What kind of heads do I need to make this manifold set work to it's potential? I've been told that the port size is different on the lower manifold of the trick flow than to those of whatever heads I would have on the car and that it wouldn't work in harmony and that it would actually hurt me to put these parts on the car instead of helping. Is this true?

Aside from knowing that it's to my benefit to either convert to mass air or have the SD computer reprogrammed what can I do to my 302 to reach my goal here while still staying N/A?

Thanks, sorry about the long post. I just wanted to give as much info as I could.
