another mexican block question

What needs to be done for me to use an older mexican 302 block for my car?
I mean will everything swap right over?
Is there anything I should look for when buying a block, and is there a certain year that I should use?
I know the normal things like boring it, and clearance for the stroker, but I thought I read somewhere something else that needed to be done by the machine shop?

I know it will be stronger than my stock block by quite a bit and they are a dime a dozen here so I can get one for $free.50 or pretty close to it.
