Help Identifying a V1 Supercharger

Hi, I just joined the forums today in order to get some help with this. I got this supercharger from a friend (who also got it from a friend). I don't know what vehicle this V1 is designed to work with, but since they are very popular with mustangs, I was hoping somebody on here could help ID this thing (I'm a turbo guy, so I haven't a clue on this one). Also, there's a metal stamp on the side of it that says "04006 V-1". I tried searching that on google, but with no luck.

It kind of looks like an early 90s Corvette set up. Do you have any brackets for it? That might help identify it. I agree with baine though, call Vortech.

The way you have it setup in the last picture will defiantly suck alot of air out of your engine.

Haha yeah, I really have no idea what to do with this thing. I don't know what it needs to work either (besides the obvious compressor wheel). I really wanted to just sell this thing, but I don't know if anyone would be interested in this thing considering the fact that it doesn't work yet. I'll give Vortech a call- thanks for the help guys!

that 90 degree elbow is for a gm cars and there should be a tag/badge on the blower housing with a serial number and would also say v1, with that do what they suggested above and just call vortech they can give you all the info you'll need.

Its not worth much in that condition and with no bracketry and hardware and other missing pieces. Couple hundred dollars maybe.

Yeah that's what I figured. But considering a friend just gave it to me for free, selling it for a couple hundred dollars would be fine by me

Yeah I thought about ebay, but I rather sell it on a local Houston forum so I don't have to worry about giving a percentage to ebay, and more importantly, shipping costs.

Haha I get that alot (my first name is actually Anderson, so you can imgaine all of the Matrix jokes I get). But why ebay? Do you think it would sell? And if I did throw it on ebay, I don't know how to describe the thing (that is, I don't know what all is missing....again, I'm a turbo guy lol)

Well, I just posted it on Ebay, but since the guys at Vortech didn't know what car it's for (the serial number was too old to be in their database), I just put it under parts in general, hoping that someone will search "V1 Supercharger"...and apparently some people have. I just about flipped when I saw that the bids are nearing $200.

Your description is accurate and honest. I wonder if people are reading it or just want salvageable parts. Vortech has or had a program that they would give some money depending on condition when you traded in a V1 for a V2 or higher. I'm sure it would have to have an impeller and be rebuildable to get anything though.

I'm glad you think so! I was worried that when people read the description, they wouldn't want it, but I guess not...but if someone doesn't read the description and flips out when it shows up at their doorstep because it's missing parts...well, that's their fault they didn't read

Well I've seen things like the box for a PSP or Xbox360 go for $100-$200, just the box, not the unit itself. Either someone REALLY wanted the box or they missed the details in the description and thought they were getting something else.

Honest Ebay descriptions are hard to come by these days. Positive reps for you for being an honest Ebayer!
