For the options, it depends on if You are going to run in the times that require certain SFI stuff.

Its an acronym, that has somthing to do with sema, but in short they set a standard for certain safety, or durability guidlines for racing parts that require some type of safty testing.

like if you run 11.5, you need a SFI approved cage. Or if you run 150mph, you need a chute...

Yep, good deal. For options I'd definitely use the "Jay Allen Custom Hyd Roller Cam 299.00" option.

You think that would be more beneficial than say a trickflow stage 2? Im going to go with the pistons with the valve reliefs so I can ditch my RPMs and pick up some twisted wedge heads. You think the other options are over kill ( ie the rod upgrades, crank upgrade, main girdle, ect.. )? Im looking for something in the high 500s that is streetable on pump gas...

It would be way more beneficial than any off the shelf cam. It would be one of the smartest choices you made with this project. Of the shelf cams are very generalized and are advertised to cover a broad cubic inch range. You are obviously building a 347 because you want more power so why put 302 parts in it and make 302 horsepower? Definitely ditch the RPM heads. Get a set of Twisted wedge 190 fast as cast heads or some Canfields. Have Jay cut your cam and then put a good intake on it. High 500s might be pushing it for horsepower on pump gas but 550hp is attainable. Talk to Woody on the phone about your goals and see if he has any other suggestions.

Actually, I'm just familiar with Jim's kits and Jim's website. After I read the first few lines I knew it was a kit from Ford Strokers.

Good deal. That answers my second question... I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on them. Never heard anything about them before and their website is a little less than state of the art, so it makes you question them some.
Thanks for the help guys, Looks like I have a green light on operation 347...

I orderd mine 5-6 weeks ago and I'm so excited. I did the tf cnc heads, jay allen cam, 28 oz. balancer and flywheel. I orginaly checked the i beams and girdle but woody talked me out of it since I'm not boosting it and he's not a fan of girdles on builds like mine.
