I ran AFR for a while.... then I switched to TFS. AFR's are for little boys.

I've never had anything but the almighty e7's so I'm not speaking from experience, but from reading quotes by jay allen on sbftech and other people they seem to be a really really high flowing, make high horsepower head. Prolly about the best bang for the buck. I'm at a tossup between canfields 195's and tf 185's.

Ok talked to a guy on another site he has the twisted wedge heads, stock bottom end 302, trick flow track heat intake,AFM N41 cam, and on motor he only ran a 12.91. I'm already running these #'s with stock e-7 heads. Then the guy added a 75 shot of nos and it ran a 12.21@111 mph. What the deal with that? Does he have issues or does the trick flow heads not make good power? I'm still stumped between which heads to go with myself.

DUDE...where the hell was this post a week ago????????
My 95 is having AFR 185's, custom cam and track heat upper and lower installed as we speak.....Everything i have read has said that the TF and the AFR are both great heads...but the AFR flow more....my mechanic told me that if i plan on a power adder down the road that the AFR 185 is the way to go. Muscle mustangs and fast fords did do a test on popular heads and the AFR out flowed the TF by quite a bit.....arent the AFR 185 all CNC'd? Wouldnt that be a huge + over the standard track heat heads? I dont know...hope i didnt f^&% up. guess the only way to know is buy both and take them to the dyno on your exact set up....who can do that?

Go buy whatever want just don't complain when you get toasted by someone with the same combo except having tfs heads when you have your afr's I'd also think about betting springs and studs as from my experience completely blow quality wise on afr's |

Not sure about suspension, but he has 3:73 gears and a tremec trans. I also now another guy who bought a set years back and all he good get was a 12.95, but that was stock suspension and on micky thompson sportsman tires. Like i said in one of the post i've seen the afr perform and i havent seen the tfs perform, but from what i've seen and heard about the tfs it isn't performing JMO.

Canfields are great heads. The Canfield head is very similar to the TFS High Port.

1. Find a new "mechanic" because your current mechanic is stupid. 2. Put the magazines down.

If you can't find TFS heads performing (more like dominating) then you must only be looking in an AFR infested race track. To say "TFS isn't performing" is rediculous. Its more like the other way around....

TFS Wedge heads are two of the race cars in my racing group "Phast Phat Racing" the cars are 11.80s on motor at my altitude.... at sealevel they are low 11 second cars. one is a 306 with a 650 carb, and the other is a 347 EFI. Both have C4s with brakes, and LCA and UCA with slicks and skinnies. the 306 weighs 2600 pounds and the 347 is a full street car....
If I could afford them... I would have some TFS 205s, but i cant so ill stick with my World Seniors at the moment....

I always thought my car could be faster when i see stock headed cars running in the twelves. I have windsor jrs and a e cam and i ran 12.7 with a 1.7x sixty. I only launched at 4500 so i know i have some room for improvement. When i see 93mustank running 11.9 with gt 40's that make me think my car should be capable of 11's. I have a few more things i want to try with mine. I definatley need to raise the rpms on the launch and some suspensions mods. I want to crack 11's with this setup. We'll see what happens.

AFR vs TFS the never ending argument. This is a waist of bandwith seriously.
