Where to put the nitrous button....suggestions

i was thinking instead of the micro switch on the throttle body.....
i was thinking of wiring my right horn button with to the nitrous like this.....what do you think

idk why but i feel safer using it with the horn button and controlling it with my finger then on the TB

i mean i feel its a safe place because if i miss shift i dont want to go full throttle and then have the nitrous kick in and blow the f@#K out of my motor......i feel that the button will work better because i will have to let go of the button to shift and if i do happen to miss shift my hand will be on the shifter instead of the button.....catch my drift

and if theres a way to do it.....please explain

Electrically separating the horn switches would probably require you to run new wires into the steering wheel and pass through the clock spring unless Ford does not tie them together until after the clock spring in the column. With schematics and a wiring diagram, you could figure it out, doable either way , but is the gain worth the effort? That is up to you. If you don't need a horn, it would be easier. In general, it does not seem like a safe idea to me, how many times have you passed by a wrecked car with the horn stuck on? What about a natural reaction to hit the horn, granted the bottle can be off but no horn will sound either.

Let us know the when someone cuts you off and you speed up to rear end them

How about a switch in the dead pedal on the floor, very easy to install and same as the horn idea with missed shifts. I prefure rpm activated switch or Throttle switch

Yeah I would say ixnay on the horn button eh... Use a RPM activated window switch that way your only worrying about steering/shifting not steering/shifting/nitrous... And if you miss-shift you wont grenade anything because it is only activated between say... 3-5.5K rpm

The problem with not having a wide open throttle switch is trigger happy rookies sometimes pull the trigger too soon before they are at wide open throttle. If you are going to use the horn, use it as an arm switch and the throttle switch as the activation switch so you will have to use both for the system to work. It will be safer that way. I have one question though. How are you going to spray and shift at the same time if you are holding your horn button in?

i know on a couple sportbikes i have done up with nitrous there is a kit that uses the horn as a double switch w/ a secondary two position switch. If that makes sense. Basically you have to flip a rocker switch located anywhere you choose....one position on the switch would be for the horn to work and the other postion would be for the nitrous to work. It turns your horn into a dual purpose switch depending on what position you have the other switch on. So when not usuing the nitrous you could still have your horn and when your ready for the nitrous hit the switch to make your horn button your go fast button

I think thats what he was saying he liked about it cause if he missed a shift he wouldnt be on the gas.....but then you are loosing out by coming off the gass when shifting
