The TrickFlow R intake is total overkill on a stock motor, you will lose alot of low end power & torque. The TrickFlow StreetBurner will work best with a stock motor & a few nolt ons & the track heat will work well with some decent N/A mods like heads & cam.

what are your plans for the engine? if its a basic bolt on setup then its overkill

its not the box one. if i had trick flow heads and the matching lower on the stock shortblock would that be fine? i currently have longtubes, o/r x, 75mm proM mass air sensor. i got the upper for 150$ with the phenolic spacer.

well of course it would be different if you had heads, they are just replying to what you said before which is just the intake.

Yeah, absolutely would be fine with the TFS TW heads. Especially if you plan, in the near future, on a cam install. Thats a good price by the way, any pics?

Adding just heads & cam would help alot, I still think the R may still be just a bit overkill even with just heads & cam without a power adder. The R is designed for the higher RPM ranges (2500rpm - 7250rpm), but hey you already have it so try it out & if it works well then keep it. Its definatly a nice intake. I have ran the R on my procharged 331 & it worked great then I switched to the box upper when it 1st came out while I was in the process of switching to a turbo & DFI setup & that worked out great too!!!

buy a cam and all supporting modifications and do it right the first time before you start slapping on parts.

You can run it on a stock engine but it isn't going to do much for you. Your heads are the bottle neck right now.
