Pulling GT40 heads / What to do next
After only having my 5.0 for less then 2 weeks I have already put on a BBK intake, long tubes, H Pipe and a catback. So naturally after driving that for a few days im not satisfied.
Im short on cash but want to continue..... Has anyone ever went to a junkyard and pulled a GT40 lower & upper intake and heads off a vehicle? if so which vehicles had them? How much should I expect to pay? Is that all i need? It should just bolt on? Should I do gears next instead? From previous posts im thinking this is the next step, But should i focus on an electric fan or something (Best bang for the buck) as I heard removing that adds a good 15hp back from parasitic loss. |

Gears should of been the first mod. It really makes a difference in how your car will accelerate and move outta the hole. If it is a 5 speed go with 3.73 and if it is an auto, go with 4.10.

i got my p heads for 48 bucks out the door. and the price was about the same for the explorer intake. But i bitched to the guy at the check out cause its not fair of them to charge for both the upper and lower just cause it comes in two pieces. so i got a decent deal on it.
