Finished my Mustang

I was planning to go to the track tonight and do some testing but it has been rained out . This may not be tthe right place to post this since there is no sub forum for big blocks, but it did orginally have a 5.0. Anywho, here are some photos of the finished car. The engine is a Ford BB (A460 SVO block) 598 cu. in. that made 1000 hp and 820 ft. lbs torque on the engine dyno without the nitrous.

Very nice. There is alot of lexan in that car. How much does it weigh? I'm sure it will be a rocket! Let us know what happens when you get to the track.

I don't know the weight yet, I have a friend coming over next week with his scales so we can check. I'm guessing somewhere between 2900# and 3000#. I built it strictly for heads up grudge racing for the $$$$. Here's a link to my web page on Cardomain with a lot more photos during the build process. Thank you very much for the compliments. The parachute release is over my head. The handle next to the shifter is so I can turn power on and off without having to climb out of the car when I forget to turn it on. I can't tell you how many times I forgot to do that when I would move the car around the shop. So I came up with that idea using a Morse cable connected to the cutoff switch in the rear. The nitrous kit will go back on after I get some track time to sort the car out.

That is a good idea, especially in a crash. The ability to kill the power to everything is very good to have. I might steal your idea for my next project.

Here's another photo during mockup that might help you out. I'm all about safety. I crashed one several years ago and it seemed like it took forever for the safety crew to get there.

geez, very good idea. ha i know what you mean, i would rather call someone and wait 5 minutes for them to turn the power on for me than crawl out and do it myself, very nice.
