Question about removing the lower intake

I have read articles where they take off the lower intake with the black heater pipes and fuel injectors and rail still connected

But on mine there is a metal tab coming from the coolant pipes on the passenger side (ones that go to the heater core) that prevents me from removing the bolt without removing the black pipe. Last time I did it I broke the pipe and its like $120 if I remember right.

So how the hell does everyone else do it? lol

Do you need one of these?

Just twist the injector rails out of the way....

I usually bend the bracket to get a socket in there... Should be a stud with a nut.

Disconnect the lines and remove the intake. You can leave the rails and metal coolant pipe on the intake. Its easier to remove the pipe from the intake with the intake off.

If you end up breaking that black coolant pipe, I'm pretty sure I still have my stock one lying around...

Yeah I just didn't get how all the tech articles I have been reading were getting to that stud bolt with that tab in the way
