okay so i installed my new throttle body and the car was running fine then while i was at work my sisters boyfriend came over with my sister to watch my son and he fucked with something and now my car is backfiring like crazy at idle he swears he didnt touch anything but she told me he was under the hood it starts and it will run but it surges like crazy ive replaced the fuel filter the plugs and checked all the wiring to make sure one didnt get split or anything any idea why shes doing this should i just take it somewhere and have the timing checked? what would you guys suggest

he might of pulled a vacuum line, check them all. if i were you i would check the timing, just to be safe

i thought so to i checked them all and nothing im almost positive its the timing just kinda getting more opinions so i dont pay 100 bucks for them to tell me a spark plug wire is unplugged lol

lol hes horrified of me and my brother i checked the firing order changed the plugs i thought it could be the ignition control module but you have to pull the dizzy and ive never messed with timing before so i really dont want to mess with it im just gonna call the guy and prepare to get raped

and its possible hes one of those "ya my hondas slow now but give me 10,000 and a month and ill be running with ferraris" actual quote but hes also a dumbass who knows literally nothing about cars

i tried that he still mantains he touched nothing but in the same sentence hes like ill pay for whatevers fucked up on another note maybe i should just have the guy fixing the timing install all the shit i have for the car in my room the kids dumb and his parents are LOADED so it wouldnt be hard to be like well you fucked the timing up so they had to install my new heads cam and intake oh ya and he said that he would just have to re adjust my timing so he also had to install my 100 shot. save me some work

Well, you said you changed plugs & wires, right? You're 100% on the fireing order? You didn't turn/move the distributor? Something isn't making sense...IMO

I'd have him pay for it and then beat his fucking ass after I fixed it. I leave my car at home for 14 days straight in a row when I leave to go to work. Everyone knows not to mess with it while I'm at work.

i quoted the book printed out another sheet and checked the firing order is correct i didnt touch the distributor at all except to remove the wire and put the new one in its place it doesnt add up to me either but without him telling me exactly what he fucked with im in the dark checked all the lines wires its getting fuel and spark its igniton related like i said it could be the igniton module but you have to pull the dizzy to replace it and i dont feel comfortable doing it so im left with take it somewhere all i know is it was running fine then i came home from work and its shitting
