Front motor plate...

Competition Engineering Front Motor Plates: CEE-4001 - summitracing.com

I was wondering if this is something that I can use on a street driven car? It's not my DD. Also is this part something thats worth all the work for install? Has anyone installed one before and know what I should expect. Is this a DIY or something I need to bring to a shop and have done? Let's bring up some pros/cons if anyone has any... Thanks

Seems like alot of work. I'd just do solid motor mounts.

I've used motor plates on the street. They take stress off the cylinders that solid motor mounts cause. For this reason I feel they will also help the stock block live longer. They require some fabrication though. A motor plate is not a bolt in deal. It will have no effect on daily driveability.

thanks darrell... If I have the front motor plate do I "have" to run the rear plate? I'm assuming by fab. you mean welding? or just cut/fitment issues?

No you won't need a mid plate but you will need engine mounts still unless you plan on some other lateral mount to keep the engine secured front to rear in the car.

You will need to cut the plate to fit, weld mounting tabs, swear, throw wrenches, etc.
