New shoes for Horse

I know I'm a ways away from actually "needing" these, but I came across a smokin deal on some hypercoated Saleen SC 18" rims/tires I couldn't pass up. They're second hand, but there's still stickers on a couple tires and the rims have never had lug nuts on them (until now). Here's a few pics I took last night, let me know what you think.

That's a 9" under there with Explorer brakes. I don't know what options are available to go bigger there yet. I was going to use the Mark VII brakes from the rearend laying on the floor on my old 8.8, but got a killer deal on the 9" along with some other parts (which might appear on this forum shortly if "local" sales don't go well). I also wasn't planning on going 18"s either--which makes the brakes look even smaller--but the deal I got on those I just couldn't pass up! I know you asked how much did I pay, well let's just say that I would still have change left from a $1000 bill if they made one.

As far as the rest of the car goes I had a suicidal deer come at me back in 99 and the project kind of snowballed and gotten away from me. Between two PCS moves, three college degrees, three kids, a trip to Iraq, cross-training, and one mortgage later I still have it sitting in pieces.

Here's what's going on with the car and what I've got for parts.....

Body: Stalker front end, Maier Racing 2" cowl hood, side scoop deletes, Cobra rear, and Dugan wing (along with replacement sheetmetal).

Drivetrain: AFM 26 slpine clutch connected to a G-force T-5 sending power to a 31 slpine 9" spinning a limited slip with 3.89s.

Engine/Air/Fuel: Motorsport A-351 block stuffed with an Eagle 4340 crank, Eagle H-beam rods, forged Venollia pistons, and a custom grind Cam Motion cam---displacement is 408 cubes. The top end consists of a pair of ported Victor Jr. heads and ported TFS EFI intake. There's a BBK 75mm T-body to bolt up to the intake. At the front of all that is the Lightning mass-air and 42lb injectors that I got from e3sean

Exhaust: BBK ceramic coated 1 3/4" 351 conversion long tubes going to an x-pipe, 3" Magnaflow mufflers, and 3" tailpipes.

Suspension/Brakes: I've got Cobra stuff for up front attached to 94 spindles and QA1 struts. Still need to get a tubular k-member (opinions on what to get???). Out back there's Hotchkiss control arms, QA1 shocks, and stock springs with a relocated lower mount for drop/pinion angle. I also have the equivalent of the Wild Rides S-box for the uppers and will be getting Battle Boxes for the lowers.

You got me thinking after your post. I didn't think that they were that small--just that they're up against 18" rims. I was trying to think of a way to get the Cobra rears that I have on my 9" when I measured them both. The Cobra rear was only 1/4" larger in diameter than the Explorer brakes!

I guess after I get rid of the gay-ass blue paint on the hat of the rotor and queer silver paint on the calipers replaced with the appropriate black it'll look a little better

Ah, but I do have Cobras.....for the front. They're the plain calipers that are painted the queer-ass silver right now. I might spray some white, make a running horse decal, then paint them black. That way when I take the decal off it'll be like the Mach 1/Bullitt calipers----only in black.
