Stock 5.0's
What do they run at the 1/4 mile?
Let's say they have some decent slicks and its a decent driver with stock 3:55's and a 5 speed |

i have heard there was one test way back when by car and driver or someone like that where a stock lx 5.0 ran a 13.9....usually stock 5.0s will go 14.5 or higher....maybe a low 14 with a real good driver....with slicks i think a 5.0 could break into 13s and with the gears and slicks probly 13.5 or 13.6

Low 13s if you can drive. I went 13.90s with my 88 GT which was bone stock except for a K&N air filter, Hurst shifter, Dynomax cat back exhaust and stock Pony wheels with 225/55-16 street radials. It had stock 3.08 gears and not one ounce of weight removed. It even had the stock H-pipe with cats on it. I put in 3.55 gears, underdrive pulleys, Flowmaster cat back exhaust and off road H-pipe and it ran 13.40s. I never put a slick or any form of sticky tire on the car. But I drive the shit like I stole it.

i don't know, but i was able to get my stock motor coupe to a 12.8@103, 8.15 1/8 mile.
stock motor, long tube headers going into stock h pipe cut to fit, et streets, 4.30 gear, and driving it hard... it also has a hot air intake (cone k&n just sitting in the engine bay) also i took some weight out. edit- i'm confused, do you mean stock car, or just stock 302?? |

When I first bought my car it was an 88 convertible GT with an AOD 3.73 gears and bald tires (wires showing) It went 14.98, then I removed the stock air intake tube (running just throttle body) and ran 14.92.
Since then I have replaced the rear end with solid upper and lower control arms, front and back H&R Lower springs, BBK shorties and catted X pipe, and borrowed M/T drag radials (I think ) netted 14.20's sub frame still to come. 20+ year old engine & transmission

Ouch. Was something wrong with it? Was it an AOD or 5 speed?

That depends on a few things, like, D/A, traction, shift points, driver mod, speed density/MAF car, vehicle weight, e.g., coupe/hatchback etc, etc. etc.
