man we own 5.0 Mustangs not caddys, there suppose to be loud and fast, my car is gutted and its really not that bad, (cant wait to do my exhuast) i agree with driving on the pebbles that really sucks but hey, i bought my stang to race, i want to drop as much weight as i can, and romp on people with a stock motor... another thing about the battery you want to put it over the passenger side wheel because they way torque twist the car when you launch the passenger rear wheel is usally the one that lifts more, (peg leg burnouts...notice its usally the right rear wheel spinning)

i want to put NOS bottle over driver rear wheel and my battery is over passenger rear wheel

hope it helps

Don't do it, you've already removed weight, why would you want to take it back. Those sound deadeners like Dynamat are actually quite heavy and to have any effect you'd need a lot of it.

Here's a few pics of what i did to mount my battery in the trunk. I welded a couple of pieces of angle over the spare tire well. I sort of messed up and welded them with the angle up. In order to fix it i just cut off the top angle and welded a new piece under to give it strength. You can avoid my mistake and just weld the angle in upside down.
BTW the little piece that's sort of sticking up is just the battery cut off switch mount. i had to build it up a little so that the push switch lined up with the hole in my tag.

To be nhra legal, you ethier have to have a rear firewall to seal the battery, or a box. A rear seat in any of the cars do not consitute as a firewall. Optimas have to be sealed too. This is nhra rules. Don't forget the kill switch ethier.
