Mass air meter question

I got a meter on ebay and i took the sensor out and the 4 metal prongs were bent and the little resistor had broken off. I bent the 4 rods back straight again, but the sensor was broken off. Can I solder it back in place, or does the sensor have to be replaced? Are those prongs supposed to just stick out or do they attach to something? If I cant fix it can I just get a new sensor? Where can I get one and what do they cost? How do I post pictures on here? I havent figured that out yet? I took some photos of it but i dunno how to attach them.

Dont try and soder it. it measures how much voltage it takes to maintain a constant temperature. Oil, dirt, and im guessing especially sodder will skew the readings.

i payed next to nothing for it. So is there any web sites that sells just the sensor? I dont know how those c&l meters but they dont come with the sensor. Do you use the stock one or does somebody sell just the sensor? I dont even know where to begin if i were to look at the junk yard. What kinda car would I want to pull the sensor out of If I went that way? its an 80mm if that helps. can I just take a sensor out of any car that has #24 injectors? What about explorers? what size injectors do they have? Or maybe a ford truck? I have no Idea. Ill call advanced auto, but i dont think they will have it. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Can I put my stock sensor in it for now until I get the #24 injectors, and get this figured out?

Get rid of it, and go to a junkyard and find one listed in here: Corral Forums - View Single Post - Used MAF testing, and MAF interchange on different Ford vehicles

Next to nothing is too much. Doing things like this is only going to create problems and cause you headaches. If you keep half assing things you are going to constantly wonder why cars with less modifications out perform you and run better doing it....and probably do it for less money.

So does that mean I can use those sensors in my 80mm I got? Or are you suggesting i get the whole thing? Are they bigger than my stock meter and what injectors are they calibrated for?

I'm curious as to where that information came from. I'd like to see something that substantiates that information.

I don't know why anyone would want to use a stock mass air meter from any of those vehicles anyway.

Use the whole MAF from one of those cars listed, they're 70mm and work with 19lb injectors. Ford MAFs are not calibrated to any size injectors, only aftermarket ones that fool the computer are. MAF sensors have a transfer function, and the computer uses that to drive the injectors.

I've found it to be a somewhat popular upgrade for people not changing to bigger injectors. Maybe not making a huge improvement on hp, but better throttle response have been reported. I did notice a small increase on boost when i switched to F2VF MAF.
